This Giant, Rideable, iPhone-controled Mech Can Be Yours For About 2 Million Dollars

Although we still don’t have hoverboards or flying cars, this giant mech shown off at Tokyo’s Wonderfest 2012 is proof that the future is here, and it’s awesome!

This is KURATAS, a 13 foot, 4-ton battle mech created by Kogoro Kurata and Wataru Yoshizaki for Suidobashi Heavy Industry reaches top speeds of 10km per hour, can be driven in both high and low positions, has an arsenal of human-safe weapons (including a smile-controlled BB pellet Gatling gun with lock-in face detection), and it even syncs with your phone so you can take calls patrolling the streets.

Check out the videos below to see the KURATAS in all its glory.

Interested parties with an extra few million to blow can customize their own KURATAS and order it directly from the Suidobashi Heavy Industry site. Check out the one I made.

I might have to set up a KickStarter so that I can actually get it now.

I'm a bit of a nerdy guy, but I like who I am. These are a few of my favorite things: Pokemon, Video Games, Fringe, Harry Potter, Indie Music, The Office, tons of movies.
